The Food & Society portfolio addresses topics related to the intersection of food and health, as well as social sustainability. Besides improving the sustainability of food and beverage related operations at WUR, this role also promotes a socially inclusive overview of sustainability, taking intersectionality and climate justice into account. The position also explore the connection between sustainability and mental health, addressing issues such as climate anxiety.

Your qualities

What are the requirements?

  • Passion for social sustainability and interest in food-related topics. It is an advantage if you have a background in social sciences or food sciences, but it is not a requirement;
  • Ability to create ideas for engaging projects and carry them out;
  • Interest in engaging in conversations with various types of people;
  • Ability to work independently on personal tasks as well as cooperatively in a team;
  • Availability for 8 hours a week (at least 1 year), from the 1st of July 2024.

Depending on your experience, we offer a competitive gross salary of between €2.618,- and €3.298,- for a full-time working week of 38 hours, in accordance with the Collective Labour Agreements for Dutch Universities (CAO-NU) (scale 6). Initially, we offer you a one-year contract.
