grover mini auto locking
i had never heard of these before (auto locking) so i gave them a try on a gibson explorer that had a G FORCE tuner on it (the G must stand for garbage) and was surprised i like them better than the standard locking tuners,these really crimp the string & hold it very secure !Rated 5/5
rescued a 34 year old Dean Z relic from the 80s
Original tuners were horrible, wiggly, busted. Finally got around to replacing them after 34 years of service. These tuners fit in as an exact, no-modification replacement into the headstock right down to the screw hole. In about 10 minutes they were on and tuned up with new strings. Could not be easier!! Love these! They look awesome and they most definitely stay in tune! Using D'Addario .09-.42 NYXL strings for the first time....testing those too.Rated 5/5

I had to return the tuner cuz I've ordered the wrong one and thank God for Ryan and Adam they told me which ones I need put that on the back burner and just bought a PRSRated 5/5
New Grover Tuners
Drop in replacements for the stock minis and it's literally the easiest mod I've ever done. These work diff than my other locking tuners but still get the job done. These and a new chrome bridge and tailpiece have made my guitar look better and more expensive in my eyes. Definitely would recommend.Rated 5/5
Great Tuners
I have played a guitar for over 40 years and have been repairing/modifying them for 2 years and have been a fan of Grover for a long time. I've used several brands over the years but always go back to Grover's and usually the Rotomatics always because they are really good tuners at a reasonable price. I used this set on my guitar It was a Asian made s style guitar the are drop in and fit like a glove they are dependable and they really help with tuning stability with a tremolo bridge or really any guitar. I also like dealing with Sweetwater they are a honest company that prices their products fairly with great customer service.

By “locking” the strings in place, locking tuners actually remove the need to wrap the strings around the tuner posts. This simple feature makes string changes much quicker, which is particularly useful if you need to replace a string at a gig!
Over the years Martin has installed tuners made by Grover, Kluson and Waverly on their 14 fret guitars. Grover "planetary" banjo style tuners were the first tuners used on a 14 fret Martin, before suitable tuners were specifically designed for a modern, solid headstock.
Turn the lock (righty, tighty) on the back of the machine head to secure the string in place. Note: Locking tuners do not require strings to have multiple wraps around the post.
A locking tuner works in a very similar way to a normal electric guitar machine head, with the addition of a locking clamp inside the string hole that holds the string firmly in place. This ensures that the strings don't slip at all, and makes for much better tuning stability.
The originals are originals (priced higher) and the new ones (priced lower) are made in China and both work fine. The Chinese ones are a different design, with a larger square footprint on the upper side. The US Grovers have a small round footprint on the top side.
