Puppies deserve the very best start in life, wouldn’t you agree? Good, because we spent lots of time perfecting this tasty, wholesome and complete recipe to do just that.

Approved by our nutritionist and our vet, this puppy food recipe is made with natural ingredients—freshly prepared meat and offal, vegetables and botanicals—plus carefully chosen vitamins and minerals. All of these provide the nutrition your growing pooch needs to be healthy and happy.

Made with freshly prepared meat and offal, none of our recipes contains meat meal or rendered meat. Now, where’s that puppy?

You may notice a subtle change in the food’s appearance and smell as well as a change to the shape of the tray. Puppy loves this.

I have to say that this is the only wet food my puppy will eat I have tried others and ended up having to give them away but with this one no waste at all. It actually smells nicer than a lot of the others too. Its a bit pricy but as long as he keeps eating it I will keep buying it.

How do you make wet dog food for puppies? ›

Place ground turkey, water, rice, and rosemary into a large Dutch oven. Stir until ground turkey is broken up and evenly distributed throughout the mixture; bring to a boil over high heat, then reduce heat to low and simmer for 20 minutes. Add frozen vegetables, and cook for an additional 5 minutes.

Is Pooch and Mutt better than Lily's Kitchen? ›

Vet Linda's summary: A tough call here - both Pooch & Mutt and Lily's Kitchen offer products with pleasingly high levels of protein and nutritious whole foods. But when it comes to extra health benefits, Pooch & Mutt just comes out top with its lower fat content and added prebiotic supplements.

Can I give my puppy chicken and rice for diarrhea? ›

Bland food is easy for the system to digest and more likely to be tolerated. Small amounts given more frequently are also easiest for the body to process. For most dogs, an appropriate bland diet would consist of boiled chicken or boiled hamburger plus rice, to provide both a protein and a carbohydrate.

What is the Lily's Kitchen controversy? ›

Lily's Kitchen is recalling a batch of its Fishy Fish Pie and a batch of Chicken and Turkey Casserole because they may contain pieces of plastic. The possible presence of plastic makes the products unsafe to eat for your pets and presents a potential choking hazard.

What to mix with wet dog food? ›

Mixing wet food into dry food can make the diet more palatable for many pets. If your pet is not eating their dry food, then wet food may be the “secret sauce” you need to stimulate their appetite. While the aroma might not be too pleasant for us pet parents, wet food tends to both smell and taste better than dry.

5-7Gradually reducing water content
8-12Transition to dry kibble or mixture

What is the ratio of wet food to dry food for puppies? ›

You can choose your dry-to-wet food ratio, but we recommend a minimum of 1/3 wet food and 2/3 dry food. Wet and dry food have different calories per gram, so you can't just interchange them. Not sure how to do it? Scan the QR code on the back of the kibble bag, and it will take you to our mixed feeding guidelines.

Is Lily's Kitchen better than Royal Canin? ›

I have lost count of the number of times i've had clients tell me that their dog is on a top quality diet, which turns out to be Vet Spec Royal Canin (very expensive, highly processed, poor nutritional value) - or clients which are buying brands like Lily's Kitchen, or Pooch and Mutt - which charge over the odds for ...

Why is Lily's kitchen so expensive? ›

The cost and range of these fine ingredients is reflected in the price - for example, some of the organic ingredients we use can be up to 20 times the cost of non-organic. We believe that the quality of the ingredients and the difference they make to our food is well worth it.

Is Lilys Kitchen made in China? ›

Why does my dog have diarrhea after eating chicken? ›

Many dogs (and cats) are allergic to chicken and can't digest it properly so they get diarrhea. Try feeding the dog a different type of protein and see what happens. If the diarrhea stops, then you have your answer. If it doesn't, then there is another medical issue and the dog should be seen by a vet.

Does rice firm up dog poop? ›

Plain rice is one of the best foods you can feed a dog with diarrhoea. Why? Mainly, because it's so easy for dogs to digest. Containing a large amount of fibre that absorbs water, rice can help stabilise your dog's stools, making it an ideal choice for post-diarrhoea feeding.

Is Lily's Kitchen Vet approved? ›

Our pet foods are tested thoroughly by a number of independent and accredited laboratories for food safety and nutritional value. Our recipes are then approved by a panel of animal nutritionists and vets.

Is wet dog food OK for puppies? ›

The short answer is yes, wet food is a good choice when you're considering what to feed your puppy. In fact, if you're in the process of weaning your puppy away from mother's milk, you know that their first introduction to solid food is a soft, moist food mixture made using either wet food, or softened dry kibble.
