Congratulations my friend and colleague. Your vision of the Neokalpana Hackathon was a seed for this success. Wonderous to see what grew out of it and continues to bloom.

"In a room where the coders belong, Hackathons went all night long. With coffee in hand, They'd code and they'd stand, Till the dawn brought a new app's song." Source:ChatGPT4.0Hackathons stand as a dynamic and effective medium for cultivating innovation and problem-solving. I have used hackathon as a medium for skills development and my belief is that, beyond the competitive aspect, they also serve as valuable learning experiences, providing participants with opportunities to enhance their skills. On a pleasant summer afternoon this year ( in Hyderabad, India, hence April and May), I was reflecting on the buzz surrounding LLMs for few months. During my usual floor walks and virtual chats with colleagues, they shared perspectives, concerns, curiosity, and various other emotions. Our flagship learning platform published several learning modules on generative AI. Our Enterprise Data Platform lead and his senior SME were discussing a proposal that could provide a safe environment to explore. GenAI They say things align in the universe for a purpose, and this seemed to be the moment— when the idea of a GenAI hackathon for colleagues in India occurred. Voila! The ball got rolling as soon as I shared my thoughts with our leader Swamy Kocherlakota, and his response “Let a thousand flowers bloom” has since remained a motivational tagline. With the power of Enterprise Data Platform team, EssentialTECH India, and an enthusiastic Project Manager we created NeoKalpana : New Imagination - Hackathon for GenAI couple of months back.NeoKalpana invited folks to participate in the Prompt Engineering category and Code Applications Incorporating Prompt Engineering. The Hackathon provided learning modules and office hour support and a core team of advisors was formed from various business units in our organization to provide additional guidance on domains to consider. And of course, underpinning NeoKalpana was the platform that emerged with an engaging interface and a safe playground.Key themes from the ideas for the Hackathon were around Collaboration and Productivity, Data Analysis and Summarisation, Risk assessment, Copilot/Chatbots, DevOps, People Support and DEI.The Hackathon was an enormous success with more than 100 submissions, involving more than 250 people from 57 teams. In last week’s high-energy finale round, the top ten coding teams and six Prompt Engineering teams presented their innovative projects, answered live questions from our panel of judges, and received real-time scores for their submissions.A shout out to Enterprise Data team led by Lakshmana Kumar Kothapalli. Special Thanks to our judges from across the globe and the Core team. Hearty congratulations to the winners, runners-up, and all participants. There is a lot of action in the enterprise and industry on GenAI. It’s a journey of continuous learning and reflection.#SPGlobalProudTanvi Jaiswal Nadine T. Karthik Ramamoorthy Samia Abbasi Ayesha A. Yesterday afternoon was about new learning and new beginnings… Industrial visit to our office for students with vision loss. When Mr. Karuppaiah from the Institute of Vision Rehabilitation, LV Prasad Eye Institute reached out with this ask, we (Digital Technology Services and REACH People Resource Group of S&P Global) took it as a learning opportunity to curate such a visit. And what resulted was an engaging time with 15 students and faculty from the institute. Savitha Prasad B orchestrated the session along with Sampath Vadlamudi , Veeramani Reddy , Jobin Achath Pulappadi, and site facility team. Our colleague Akshay who has complete vision loss and his manager Neha Tewatia joined us to share Akshay's industrial experience and how he participates in the Accessibility testing of our products. The session opened with an icebreaker which was to introduce ourself with an adjective and it gave us all an opportunity to express ourself while warming up( students, faculty and S&P Global colleagues) . The students were curious about workplace readiness, onboarding process, what they should prepare from learning angle, what would it mean to pick up a marketing domain , what are skills for coding , what is management for people with vision and more. The faculty members Aishwarya, Ramakrishna, Pavani and Anush were eager to learn more to enable the students further. I am sure many of them will find a place of choice to work when they finish their course from the institute. My Best Wishes.#spglobalproud #newbeginningsMadhavi Reddy Sanjay Wadhwani Maureen Cuddy Lakshmana Kumar Kothapalli Anuthama Chandrasekaran Ashish Krishna Kidambi Ram Vishnuvajjala Pooja Nair

A feast for thoughts and excellent opportunity to network around Business, Data and Technology . We had exciting two days to thank for OCt 17th and 18th. And this year we had regional SPARK preceding the global virtual event. The various EssentialTECH Chapters in India had an excellent line up of activities for colleagues to engage at the office and virtually. While I cannot cover all, listing few here. It was great listening to Valli Bollavaram CTO of SwissRe share key perspectives on embracing innovation, why product management is important, how to accept what we are and not try be a superhuman, her Friday learning commitments. Great engagement with the audience. Thanks Valli. We also had Shridhar Marri , CEO and Co-Founder FlyFish.ai speak to our colleagues in Bengaluru office which I could not participate as I was at another event in Hyderabad for SPARK and my colleagues from Bengaluru had so many take aways to share about tech and entrepreneurship. Thanks Shridhar. We had an engaging Panel pow wow on emerging technologies with Lakshmana Kumar Kothapalli Narendra Nallamothu Vijaya Yalamarthi moderated by Sirisha Deevi and some key takeaways I had are categorise learning as "Must Have, Good to Have and Nice to Have", "Curiosity inspires learning", "I allow AI to know something of me to present my learning modules", Peer to Peer learning". My colleagues Debashish Raksh*t Anjum Khan and Nilam Patel presented excellent talks on various technology and leadership topics at the Noida and Ahmedabad location. I am told that the Databricks session at the SPARK regional in CRISIL Mumbai and Ahmedabad were well received by the audience. Akshay Sehgal sh*tanshu Srivastava thrilled the Gurugram colleagues with genAI and Sustainability topics. The Keynote sessions and other sessions part of Global Virtual SPARK left us with learning, curiosity , inspiration and taglines to not forget. Our CIO, Swamy Kocherlakota said " everyone is a limited edition of themself". I find this very powerful and it is now imprinted in my memory. Thanks to EssentialTECH and Innovation for organising another engaging SPARK this year. Kudos Shankar Krishnamurthy Nadine T. Dani Abbott Jamie Brazell and other EssentialTech team members. Shoutout to the EssentialTECH India Chapter leads Bhoomika Patel Pankaj Arora Mridula Prasad Sanghamitra Sethi, PMP®Raj Shekhar Salugu Gopi Krishna Sanapala Satish Kumar Vadlakonda Nitin Dixit Debashish Raksh*t Nishant Sondhi Rohil Prasad Anica Balakrishnan Swapna Deobhankar and several champions for the engaging Regional events . Also, Thanks to my friends Sravanthi Lanka (Nalamotu) Vinay Arora Ram Vishnuvajjala and Srikanth (Sri) Chakravarthy for respective site engagement and support. #spglobalproud

Preparing for the keynote and moderating on this happening topic was learning in its own way. It's an emerging area with lot of potential albeit with Human in loop. I thank Nasscom for the opportunity and fellow panellists Rahul Rajupalepu Manikumar Krishnamoorthy Vonkayala Venkata Giri for being engaging speakers. The audience was quite interactive which means this topic will emerge to the next level of discussion soon.
