My mother and I have a difficult relationship mostly due to me being the least favorite child so I know I take things too personally. BUT…
My 14 month old still wakes up 4+ times a night. Horrible sleeper even though we have tried everything.
Today my mom asked by we weren’t giving her melatonin. I answered (unsafe, unregulated, unnecessary) and she asked about Benadryl to which I again told her no and said it wasn’t safe or necessary. And she got mad at me. Went on a whole thing about how she gave it to me every night and I’m fine. I’m 4’8” with chronic anxiety and a heart condition.
She loves to tell the story of how she gave me alcohol at 6 weeks and that it was the best sleep she had when I was a baby. Or when she used to hold me down and muzzle my mouth to make me sleep.
She genuinely can’t see why I disagree and won’t let her be alone with my daughter. It’s so incredibly frustrating.

Omg!!! I would limit my contact with her. She seems toxic. How do you admit to drugging your child every night and not feel guilt???

Oh my gosh! First of all, I can’t believe that she did those things to you, and secondly, that she would talk about it as if they were something to be proud of! And thirdly, that she would try to get you to do them to your own child. How awful. :(

@MBelleH,
the scary thing is I hear it a lot like it's something funny. I even had my neighbor tell me to give my boy weed. that they gave it to her granddaughter and now she sleeps through the night. I'm like nope lol

I agree with what the others said.
I'd be afraid of her watching your kid unsupervised if she thinks those things are okay!

Omg I’m so sorry!
As for sleeping how is your baby eating? At this age 4x a night its a lot, don’t want to sound mean or anything just would like to help.
Do you have a some sort of schedule? Like maybe you have to shorten last nap?
